Caution against fictitious offers of remitting cheap funds from abroad

The Reserve Bank of India has advised members of public not to fall prey to fictitious offers for release of cheap funds claimed to have been remitted by overseas entities to banks in India / Reserve Bank of India. Members of public should also not make any remittance towards participation in such schemes/offers from unknown entities.

Describing the typical modality of such offers, the Reserve Bank of India stated that certain foreign entities/individuals, including Indian residents acting as representatives of such entities/individuals, make offers through letters / emails, etc., of huge money in foreign currency to resident individuals/entities (including schools/hospitals), on the pretext of helping them in their business/ventures in India. Once the contact is established, the offer is followed by a request seeking details of bank account of the Individuals/Indian entity and asking some amount to be remitted to them as initial deposit/commission so that the offer money could be transferred. Likewise, references have been also received in the
Reserve Bank in therecent past from individuals/authorised dealers seeking approvals/clarifications for effecting remittances in foreign currency towards commission/fees for receiving prizes won in overseas lottery schemes etc. It has also come to the notice of the Reserve Bank that certain overseas organisations have been advising individuals/companies/trusts in India that huge sums of money for disbursal of loans in India at cheap rates has been kept in an account with the Reserve Bank and the funds would be released after approval from the Reserve Bank. To substantiate their claims, even copies of certificate/deposit receipts purported to have been issued by the Reserve Bank are produced by such operators.

The Reserve Bank of India has today clarified that remittance in any form towards participation in lottery schemes is prohibited under Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. Further, these restrictions are also applicable to remittances for participation in lottery-like schemes functioning under different names, such as, money circulation scheme or remittances for the purpose of securing prize money/awards, etc. The Reserve Bank of India has further clarified that it does not maintain any account in the name of individuals/companies / trusts in India to hold funds for disbursal.

Ensure following before logging in!!! secure your online transactions..

Check for the "Lock" icon. There is a de facto standard among web browsers to display a "lock" icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area!)

Check the webpage's URL. When browsing the web, the URLs (web page addresses) begin with the letters "http". However, over a secure connection, the address displayed should begin with "https" - note the "s" at the end. For example: The URL now begins with "https”, meaning the user name and password typed in will be encrypted before being sent to our server.

Similarly, look for signs that an online shopping site is identity verified and SSL secured to protect your credit card and personal information. Most browsers will mark a secure site by displaying a padlock icon somewhere on the frame of the browser window. Look for that icon before making any transactions. If you're not sure, check with someone who knows. It's better to play safe, than be sorry

Never access your account at a cyber cafe or a shared computer as you can never be sure how you are being monitored, or what spy software might be installed on those machines. Instead, always use your home computer for security reasons

Always update your operating system for security patches. Also use a reputed anti-virus and update it on regular basis

When choosing a password for your banking accounts, choose something that is sufficiently long and that includes upper and lower case, numbers and even special characters. Refrain from using your birthdates or names of loved ones as passwords as these can easily be guessed

Be wary of any emails that ask you to update your bank account information. They could be an attempt at 'phishing' (obtaining your password or other information illegally), which could result in identity theft, unauthorized purchases or compromise of your account tAdditionally, don't click on any link that you receive in your email even if it appears to be from your bank. Instead, make it a point to remember the URL, and type it manually in the address bar before making any transactions.

Phishing scammers create web sites that look and feel authentic, and they usually lure victims through emails with links that lead to the fraudulent web sites

Notify your credit-card provider/bank immediately of any unauthorized use of your credit card/debit card from an online transaction. Don't waste any time in taking action. The longer you wait, the more difficult it can be to resolve the situation, especially if you've been lured into an online scam or have become a victim of identity theft tAvoid making online transactions with unknown businesses, or those that do not clearly state their policies regarding your privacy

Let us make it a rule not to use the laptop on bed or on the Arabic mattress with blankets and pillows around.

A couple lost their 25 year old son in a fire at home on June 4th. The son who had graduated with MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison two weeks earlier had come home for a while.
He had lunch with his dad at home and decided to go back to clean up his hostel room. His father told him to wait, to meet his mother, before he went back for a few days. He decided to take a nap while waiting for his mom to come back home from work.

Some time later their neighbors called 911 when they saw black smoke coming out of the house. Unfortunately, the 25 years old died in the three year old house. It took several days of investigation to find out the cause of the fire. It was determined that the fire was caused by the laptop resting on the bed.

When the lap top was on the bed cooling fan did not get the air to cool the computer and that is what caused the fire. He did not even wake up to get out of the bed because he died of breathing in carbon monoxide.

The reason I am writing this to all of you is that I have seen many of us using the laptop while in bed and in the Arabic mattress salon. Let us all decide and make it a practice not to do that. The risk is real.

Let us make it a rule not to use the laptop on bed or on the Arabic mattress with blankets and pillows around.

HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED OR WITNESSED THIS????

Lovers and spouses are innumerable in this world.... BUT how many of them are true? How many are sincere in their love? How many mean what they say? How many will pack their bags and leave once their love’s leg is amputees? Once their love has a stroke and is paralyzed? Once their love’s face has been distorted in a sudden accident? How many? HOW MANY? Alas. ........ Very few.... very few can look past the ugly outer cover and reach into the inner heart and still love it.... You may fall for the beauty and figure of someone, but in the long run, its ONLY the person’s character and faith that counts... One such beautiful example....

This is the True Love Story I ever come across (after going through all these images)

इतना फॉरवर्ड करो की एक आन्दोलन बन जाये

Dear Reader

1.Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War

2.What's so special about him?
He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3.This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, bio fuel and wind mills. In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India . It has become a model for self-sustained, Eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4.This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.
5.He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India .
6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), bureaucrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

7. It's an entirely new thing right..?
In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit their theft (corruption).

8. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?
The first thing he is asking for is: the govt should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% government participation and 50% public participation.Bcz u cant trust the govt entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

9.What will happen when this bill is passed?
A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished.

Ten things to learn from Japan & Their People....

1. THE CALM
Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.

2. THE DIGNITY
Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude gesture.

3. THE ABILITY
The incredible architects, for instance. Several Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.

4. THE GRACE
People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.

5. THE ORDER
No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding.

6. THE SACRIFICE
Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors. How will they ever be repaid ?

7. THE TENDERNESS
Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.

8. THE TRAINING
The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.

9. THE MEDIA
They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.

10. THE CONSCIENCE
When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly!

A Miracle at ISKCON Temple

It’s a real miracle that happened yesterday on 17.03.2011 at Radha Gopinath Temple of ISKCON (at Mumbai, Chowpatty near Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan)

Attached are two pictures of Lord Gaurang -Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (An incarnation of Lord Krishna) (right) and Nityanand Prabhu (An incarnation of Lord Balaram) (left)

In one picture you will notice that both are looking at the camera when their picture is being clicked.

In another photograph when their Aarti is being done, their eyes have are looking down at the Aarti. Its also noticed that Lord Gaurang has bent a little.

We can notice that these Deities are not only Statues……...

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Ram Hare Ram, Ram Ram Hare Hare…..
